 • The Center on Main – $1,500 for its Big Talk Program

• Lee H. Kellogg School - $1,500 for its Diversity , Equity and Inclusion efforts.

• Falls Village Housing Trust - $9,000 to support affordable housing.

• Recreation Center - $2,000 For a shade structure at the Town pool

• Music Mountain - $1,000 to support children’s and family programming.

• Adamah - $1,000 for its Food Access Program

We are proud of the hard-working volunteers in all of these organizations who give freely of their time and skills to keep our Village the special place that it is! Over the past four years, the FVCDC has developed relationships and collaborated with many of our leaders who serve our Village, serve on boards and provide the hard labor that it takes to keep our community vibrantly active. Congratulations to all.

Since our formation in 2020, we have supported:

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We offer no-cost equity workshops with a certified anti-racism facilitator to our community.  This program provides a historic perspective and the opportunity to explore your experiences, feelings and thoughts.

Some community members have been inspired to expand on this work. Read more.

Affordable Housing

To preserve affordable housing, the the CDC is collaborating with the Falls Village Housing Trust to purchase and renovate rental properties.

Environmental Resilience

Environmental Resilience

In collaboration with SustainableCT, we supported the establishment of native plants in eight gardens including  Town Hall, downtown sidewalks and road  islands.  These gardens support pollinators and save water.

In 2023 we also partnered with the Nature Conservancy to create an environmental resilience plan for Falls Village.

Community Wi-Fi

Environmental Resilience

Grants from the Foundation for Community Health and Comcast supported indoor and outdoor community spaces with free broadband Wi-Fi.  People can now  bring their own device to the town green and log on.

Creative Place Making

In partnership with SustainableCT, we worked with the Falls Village Recreation Commission to produce a crowdfunding campaign with matching grant to add mature trees, native plants and a pergola to the Town Pool area.

Local Agriculture

We produced a video celebrating Falls Village's local farms and farmers and displayed the video in the Falls Village Cafe upon it's opening.
